Why do you believe that you can do a better job allocating space within SGA better than Oracle? but is that space taken up permanantly? How can I reduce the size of shared pool ?Any ideas ? So, I can see why the shared pool has grown. I do have some application connecting to the database and running 10s of thousands of SQLs which don't use bind variable. But my shared pool is taking more memory. The problem is, too much memory from my SGA is being given to shared pool. I am on Oracle 12.1, enterprise edition. 1.7K Training / Learning / Certification.165.3K Java EE (Java Enterprise Edition).7.9K Oracle Database Express Edition (XE).3.8K Java and JavaScript in the Database.
